ResearchComp

Soft skills are essential attributes that contribute to an individual's personal and professional development. Understanding one's proficiency in these skills is crucial for self-awareness and growth. In a recent voluntary and anonymous survey, a group of 27 participants provided self-assessments of their soft skills across various categories. The survey covered the six key areas as presented by the Competence Framewok for Researchers, the RResearchComp, which are the following: Working with Others, Managing Skills, Cognitive Abilities, Self Management, Making an Impact, and Doing Research. This report presents a summary of the survey results, offering insights into participants' self-perceived abilities within these categories.

Summary of Survey Results: ResearchComp

ResearchComp is a tool that was developed by the European Commission and is the first competence framework aligned with the European Skills, Competences, and Occupations classification (ESCO), as it has been developed on the basis of the taxonomy of transversal skills for researchers that was included in the 2022 version of the classification. Researchers are a fundamental resource for research and innovation and for society at large. It is important that they are equipped with the transferrable skills necessary for effective and successful careers in all relevant sectors of the society, including academia, industry, the public administration and the non-profit sector.
